Job Role :

The Waste Supply Chain Manager is responsible for securing, managing, and optimizing the feedstock supply of waste required to keep the Waste-to-Fuel plant operating at full capacity. This role ensures that the plant receives sufficient volume, consistent quality, and reliable delivery of waste on a daily basis.

This position is not a conventional supply chain role. Instead of sourcing products for distribution, the manager secures long-term waste supply agreements (10–20 years) with city governments, municipalities, and industrial partners, ensuring the plant has guaranteed feedstock over its operational life. The role combines strategic contracting, logistics planning, and operational coordination with public and private stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Waste Feedstock Sourcing & Contracting
  • Secure and manage long-term waste supply agreements with municipal governments, industrial waste generators, and waste management partners.
  • Negotiate contractual terms covering volume commitments, pricing, quality specifications, and duration (10–20 years).
  • Maintain strong relationships with local authorities and industrial partners.
  • Waste Logistics & Operations
  • Oversee collection, transportation, and storage logistics of municipal and industrial waste.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers, waste haulers, and plant operations teams.
  • Ensure timely and continuous delivery to meet plant throughput requirements.
  • Volume Planning & Quality Control
  • Monitor waste volume forecasts, seasonal variations, and supply risks.
  • Ensure waste quality meets plant processing requirements.
  • Work closely with plant teams to align feedstock planning with production schedules.
  • Cost Optimization & Efficiency
  • Optimize logistics routes, transport costs, and handling efficiency.
  • Identify risks and inefficiencies in the waste supply chain and implement improvements.
  • Balance cost control with long-term supply security.
  • Stakeholder & Government Coordination
  • Act as the primary liaison with city governments, municipalities, and waste authorities.
  • Coordinate regulatory, operational, and contractual matters related to waste sourcing.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in waste logistics, biomass supply, environmental services, or industrial feedstock management, while being in leadership roles.
  • Proven experience dealing with municipal or government stakeholders.
  • Technical & Professional Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of waste collection, transport, and storage logistics.
  • Experience managing volume planning, quality control, and supply risk.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, particularly for long-term agreements.
  • Ability to coordinate across operations, logistics providers, and public-sector entities.
  • Personal Qualities:
  • Structured, persistent, and resilient in managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to handle public-sector negotiations.
  • Results-driven and capable of managing long-term strategic supply risks.
  • Language: Language: English (professional business level to understand technical terms and to communicate with stakeholders).
