Port Manager - Container Terminal

Placement : Subang West Java

Area Responsibilities :

Vessel Operations

  • Plan and supervise vessel berthing, stowage, and container-handling activities.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, pilots, and harbour authorities.
  • Ensure crane productivity targets and berth productivity KPIs are met.
  • Resolve operational disruptions or delays in real time

Yard and Equipment Operations

  • Manage container yard planning, space allocation, and stacking strategies.
  • Oversee equipment deployment (RTGs, reach stackers, terminal tractors, quay cranes).
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance with engineering teams.
  • Implement strategies to reduce congestion and optimize yard flows.

Gate Operations

  • Ensure efficient truck and rail gate processing.
  • Monitor turn-around times and enforce security and customs compliance.
  • Coordinate with trucking companies and inland transport providers.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Monitor operational KPIs (vessel productivity, yard utilization, moves/hr, etc.).
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operational reports.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement operational enhancements

Strategic & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead operational improvement initiatives (automation, digitalization, process redesign).
  • Participate in capacity planning and long-term terminal development projects.
  • Contribute to budgeting, cost control, and resource optimization.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, customs, port authorities, and logistics partners.
  • Handle customer inquiries, operational issues, and service-level agreements.

Qualifications :

  • Having solid experience in Port Operation, Container Handling at the similar position
  • Good communication in English
  • Having knowledge of
    Container Terminal Operating Systems (TOS)
    and inventory management software.
  • Understanding of
    international shipping regulations
    , customs procedures, and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to lead large teams and manage performance.
