We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Cost Inventory Accountantto support accounting team in monitoring inventory transactions, preparing cost analysis, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role will assist in maintaining cost records, reconciling inventory accounts, and providing insights to improve cost efficiency and stock management.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or related roles, preferably from retail or manufacturing industry.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and cost accounting methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting/ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (finance, procurement, warehouse).
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Job Role:

  • Record and monitor daily inventory transactions in the accounting system.
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing cost reports for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support in periodic stock counts and variance analysis.
  • Maintain accurate costing records and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in preparing journal entries and month-end closing related to inventory and cost accounts.
  • Provide data to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and other relevant teams to ensure proper cost allocation.
  • Prepare reports on inventory aging, stock movement, and cost trends.
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
