Data Centre Supervisor

Job description:

The Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day onsite activities and ensuring that all ICT and fit-out works are executed according to design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. This role involves close coordination with contractors, onsite teams, and the Project Engineer/Project Manager to support the successful delivery of a multi-stage data center build.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supervising ICT, structured cabling, and telecommunications installations in data center or similar technical environments. The Supervisor will ensure that all site works meet safety requirements, comply with project specifications, and align with the defined schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily onsite ICT and fit-out construction activities, ensuring contractor work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Assist the Project Engineer in monitoring progress, resolving onsite issues, and coordinating execution sequencing.
• Oversee contractor manpower deployment and verify that assigned resources match daily/weekly work plans.
• Conduct routine site walk-throughs and inspections to ensure correct installation of structured cabling, containment, electrical works, racks, network infrastructure, and telecommunications systems.
• Monitor work quality, highlight non-conformities, and ensure timely rectification.
• Support the Project Engineer in preparing daily/weekly progress updates, including tracking milestones, delays, and material status.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and site access protocols.
• Coordinate material deliveries, verify quantities, and track usage to prevent shortages or delays.
• Liaise with contractors, vendors, and onsite teams to ensure smooth execution and resolve day-to-day technical and site issues.
• Assist with documentation such as redlines, as-built updates, inspection forms, and installation reports.
• Support testing and commissioning activities by coordinating field teams, ensuring readiness, and documenting results where required.
• Uphold professionalism onsite and support client/team communications when required.
• Escalate risks, delays, or critical issues to the Project Engineer or Project Manager in a timely manner.

Requirements and skills

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in data center ICT, structured cabling, or telecom fit-out projects.
• Hands-on experience with data center ICT installation practices, including structured cabling, containment, racks, fiber/copper systems, and equipment installation.
• Prior experience supervising data center fit-out works (mid-size projects or colocation facilities preferred).
• Good understanding of Indonesia's codes of practice and local construction/telecom regulations is preferred.
• Experience supervising local electrical and telecom contractors.
• Experience coordinating with local telecommunication authorities and carriers is an advantage.
• Diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory for Supervisor level).
• Certifications such as CDCP, CDCF, PMP (Intro), or structured cabling certifications are an advantage.
• Experience with BMS or CPOS systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with MS Project/Primavera/Fulcrum is an added advantage.

● Working hours from Monday through Friday 8:30am to 6:00pm at the site office in Batam, Indonesia.

● Other responsibilities as and when required by the manager.
