Warehouse Manager – Job Description

  1. Position Overview

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and logistics coordination. This role ensures operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and timely material flow to support production and customer delivery requirements.

  1. Key Responsibilities

A. Warehouse Operations Management

Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.

Ensure materials and finished goods are handled according to SOPs and quality requirements.

Optimize warehouse layout, storage methods, and material flow.

Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and operational discipline in the warehouse.

B. Inventory Control & Accuracy

Ensure accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and annual physical counts.

Monitor stock levels, identify discrepancies, and conduct root-cause analysis for inventory errors.

Prevent stock losses, damages, and expired materials through effective storage management.

Implement and enforce FIFO/FEFO and material traceability requirements.

C. Team Leadership & Training

Lead and manage warehouse staff including supervisors, operators, and forklift drivers.

Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure productivity targets are achieved.

Provide coaching, training, and skills development for warehouse personnel.

Promote teamwork, discipline, and accountability within the warehouse.

D. Safety, Compliance & Equipment Management

Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company EHS policies.

Conduct safety training, risk assessments, and accident investigations.

Manage warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and racking systems.

Ensure proper equipment maintenance and safe operation procedures.

E. Process Improvement & KPI Management

Develop and implement improvements for warehouse processes and workflows.

Monitor key KPIs including receiving accuracy, picking accuracy, inventory accuracy, cycle count performance, order fulfillment times, and on-time shipment.

Introduce best practices such as lean warehousing, 5S, and automation where applicable.

Support digitalization initiatives (WMS, barcode scanning, RFID, etc.).

F. Coordination with Other Departments

Collaborate with production, purchasing, logistics, planning, and quality teams to ensure seamless material flow.

Coordinate shipping schedules with logistics and customer service teams.

Work closely with procurement and planning on material forecasts and replenishment.

G. WMS & System Management

Manage warehouse transactions through WMS/ERP systems.

Ensure accurate and timely data entry of all warehouse movements.

Support WMS implementation, configuration, and optimization.

  1. Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience

5+ years of warehouse or logistics experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or FMCG environments preferred.
