Responsibilities:

  • Demand Planning:

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts by analyzing sales, market trends, and historical data.

  • Lead the monthly demand planning process and participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust plans as needed to meet business objectives.

  • Purchasing and Procurement:

  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate prices, and ensure timely delivery of materials.

  • Oversee the purchasing department, including managing staff and maintaining compliance and risk management protocols.
  • Conduct price and quality analysis to ensure the best value is obtained.

  • Inventory Management:

  • Optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand without excess stock.

  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing to ensure accuracy and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Provide input for new product introductions and product phase-outs.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align on forecasts and strategies.

  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning and purchasing.

  • Strategy and Management:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve both demand planning and purchasing processes.

  • Oversee the performance of the planning and purchasing teams, providing training and guidance.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions affecting the supply chain and budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like supply chain management, operations, or business analytics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and forecasting skills.
  • Proficiency with forecasting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and purchasing practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in a managerial role is often required.
