We are looking for a Sustainability Associate to support the execution of the Impact and Sustainability function’s existing projects and initiatives. For this position, the sustainability associate’s main role is to support the overall function’s activities and initiatives across the region. The associate will be in charge of executing and ensuring the projects run within the allocated timeline. We are looking for an individual who is passionate and/or has a genuine interest in sustainability issues. You will work cross-functionally with business units including but not limited to data, business, credit, product, and operations. You will be joining a regional team that oversees the implementation and integration of ESG considerations into the core business. This role will be suitable for you if you are also looking for an international exposure and keen to understand the various sustainability situations in other Southeast Asian markets.

Responsibilities:

- Support the roll out of the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) to our other markets, including coordinating with the credit and business teams, creating the ESG risk assessment framework, and preparing the necessary documents related to it.
- Responsible for the data infrastructure project; including the data collection of the ESG survey and processing the survey responses of the ESG information from our borrowers.
- Coordinate the data collection efforts for ESG reporting requirements for investors, for membership associations, and for external studies, liaising with various divisions as required.
- Follow industry trends, conducting research on key sustainability trends in fintech, start-ups, SME financing and various other impact and sustainability topics.
- Work on ad hoc projects related to ESG and Sustainability from time to time.

**Requirements**:

- Able to communicate in English and Bahasa
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in fields related to sustainability and/or business
- Have prior work/internship experience in sustainability or a strong proven record of interest in sustainability
- A good understanding of ESG topics and its impact on an organisation from a strategic and operational perspective, especially for SMEs
- Be data-driven, structured, and organized to handle various aspects of a project, while paying attention to small details
- Excellent communication and analytical skills to present more complex terms and concepts in simple terms
- Aware of the region’s active network in sustainability, climate change, and social impact sectors
- Have an understanding about the Sustainable Development Goals, the UN Global Compact’s 10 Principles, GRI standards, SASB standards or other sustainability-related standards and frameworks, and able to translate them into impact strategies
- Experience in the financial sector, in embedding ESG considerations within risk assessments will be an asset
- The ability to work independently and stay motivated in a fast-moving and dynamic startup environment
