Pepper Money Indonesia - as part of our overall Asia Lending business, we are starting in Indonesia this year with An Operation & Capital-light business model in lending.

**The Role**:
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Credit Risk Officer ("CRO") to join our team in Indonesia.

You will report directly to CEO (SG), and locally report to the Country Manager from a line management perspective. From a governance perspective, you will be Chair of the Credit Risk Committee and you will also be the Deputy Chair of the overall Risk Committee. As such, you will be advising and leading the discussion / determination of the risk appetite for the respective businesses being conducted in Indonesia.

You will be in charge of developing and maintaining the operational, credit and collection policies, and terms of references pertaining to the Credit Risk Committee and Risk Committee for the Pepper Money Indonesia business, and manage the NPL rate below the budget.

You will proactively solicit market intelligence in understanding market development, fraudulent practices, NPL trends, etc.. with the following two functions in focus:
1. Credit Analysis and risk management:

- Actively involved in the daily credit committee to approve / disapprove loans.
- Proactively monitor credit performance of the loans, with respect to the portfolio triggers and recommend adjustments to policies as needed;
- Proactively monitor distribution partners in terms of onboarding and ongoing risk management
- Active involvement in the formulation and delivery of optimal collection & recovery strategies

2. Data Analysis and Analytics:

- Study loan performance / customer behavioural trends with respective to "good" and "bad" decisioning, and develop credit scoring analysis for future decisioning adoption based on data science.
- You will be expected to develop and own a sophisticated scoring model for median small and micro enterprises ("MSME") sector in the first instance and consumer sector later.
- You will also be responsible for maintaining the data repository.

You will lead a small team of two initially to perform such relevant activities.

**The Responsibilities**

- Analyze credit data and financial information to evaluate the creditworthiness of potential borrowers
- Develop and implement operational and credit risk policies and procedures
- Manage the credit portfolio, including monitoring credit performance and delinquency rates
- Provide regular credit risk reports to management and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to credit risk management
- Work closely with other departments, including operations and underwriting, to ensure the timely and accurate completion of credit-related tasks
- Conduct periodic credit reviews and updates to credit risk models and scoring systems
- Participate in the development of new credit products and services
- Communicate credit decisions and policies to underwriting staff

**Skills and experience required**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, risk, accounting, or related field
- Professional certification
- At least 8 years of experience in credit risk management
- Familiar with SME and micro financing specifically supply chain, invoice and inventory financing products across different sectors
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of credit risk management principles and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with credit scoring and risk modeling software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
