Like many businesses, we are processing ever-increasing volumes of personal data, whether data related to consumers, employees, or others, and maintaining compliance with data protection laws around the world (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR) is essential. To respond to the challenges of the dynamic global data protection environment, we are now expanding our Global Privacy Program (GPP) to include full-time Data Privacy Leads covering all markets and functions. We are currently seeking highly motivated candidate to join as Privacy Manager who will be based in Jakarta. YOUR ‘DAY TO DAY’ A privacy professional within the Legal Department who will be effective in providing guidance to business and functional leaders across a number of markets with responsibility on a range of data privacy matters primarily in Indonesia and a few other Asian markets. Key Responsibilities: - Consult with and advise the Company on appropriate legal requirements and risks related to privacy. - Counsel and advise senior management and various legal, IT security, and business teams on mitigating privacy risks. - Monitor evolving laws, regulations, and best practices in the areas of privacy in Indonesia and a few other Asian markets to help identify critical legal issues and practical compliance solutions for the Company. - Translate privacy laws and regulations into technical and operational legal requirements while working closely and coordinating with information security and technology teams. - Work closely with internal business partners to understand their business processes, applications, projects, and technologies to ensure compliance with relevant global privacy laws, regulations, and best practices. - Help design and embed privacy requirements and controls into projects, products, technologies, initiatives, and services throughout the Company. - Develop and implement effective local strategies, policies, notices, standards, controls, and training materials in the areas of privacy. - Identify and advise on legal and compliance issues arising out of various internal and external privacy audits, assessments, tests, reviews, and ongoing program improvement efforts. - Works primarily with independent judgment, consulting with the privacy team and Law Department as needed. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? - Minimal Bachelor’s Degree, preferred with Legal background - Min. 5 years experience in a privacy, information security, compliance or risk role with preferred legal background. - Sound understanding of data privacy principles and concepts. - Solid working knowledge of Indonesian and other local data privacy laws, regulations, and best practices. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly results-oriented and performance-driven environment, handle multiple, conflicting priorities while managing a substantial workload and client expectations. - Proven ability to think strategically and exercise sound judgment. - Quickly grasps key drivers of the business and industry; quickly acquire knowledge of PMI Global Privacy Program - High level of integrity, commitment and maturity. - Demonstrates outstanding communications skills, including presenting to, advising and educating executive leadership. - Demonstrates self-motivation and initiative to prioritize work and perform the job with mínimal supervision. - High proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
