**Overview**:We are seeking a talented and experienced SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) Engineer to join our team. As a SLAM Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing SLAM algorithms for our robotics and autonomous systems. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing SLAM solutions that enable accurate localization and mapping in dynamic environments. Proficiency in ROS (Robot Operating System), computer vision, C++, and Python is essential for this role.
**Responsibilities**:
**SLAM Algorithm Development**: Develop and implement state-of-the-art SLAM algorithms to ensure accurate real-time localization and mapping for autonomous systems.
**ROS Integration**: Work with the ROS framework to integrate SLAM algorithms into our robotic platforms, ensuring seamless communication with other system components.
**Computer Vision**: Utilize computer vision techniques to enhance sensor data processing, feature extraction, and object recognition to improve SLAM performance.
**Localization and Mapping**: Design and optimize algorithms for both 2D and 3D SLAM, taking into account various sensors such as LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, and other sensor modalities.
**Data Fusion**: Develop methods for sensor fusion to combine data from multiple sensors, improving the robustness and accuracy of the SLAM system.
**Performance Optimization**: Continuously improve the computational efficiency and resource utilization of the SLAM algorithms to ensure real-time operation on embedded systems.
**Testing and Validation**: Conduct extensive testing and validation of SLAM algorithms using simulation environments and real-world data, and fine-tune parameters for optimal performance.
**Documentation**: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for SLAM algorithms, codebase, and integration processes to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
**Collaboration**: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and roboticists, to integrate SLAM solutions into our autonomous systems.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
- Strong experience in developing SLAM algorithms for robotics or autonomous systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
- In-depth knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System) and experience with ROS-based development.
- Strong background in computer vision, including feature detection, matching, and object recognition.
- Experience with sensor fusion and data fusion techniques.
- Familiarity with various sensors used in robotics, including LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, and GPS.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with GPU programming and parallel computing (CUDA) is a plus.
- Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques for robotics is a plus.
