**Job Title**: Bookkeeper
**Department**: Finance & Accounting
**Reports To**: Chief Accounting
**Job Summary**:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial statements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization's financial operations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Recording Financial Transactions**:
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Ensure all entries are recorded in the accounting software accurately and timely.
- **Accounts Payable and Receivable**:
- Process invoices and manage accounts payable.
- Ensure timely payments to vendors and reconciliation of supplier accounts.
- Handle accounts receivable, including invoicing customers and following up on outstanding payments.
- **Bank Reconciliation**:
- Reconcile bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- **Preparing Financial Statements**:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Provide detailed reports on financial performance to management.
- **Budgeting and Forecasting**:
- Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning and analysis.
- **Compliance and Tax Preparation**:
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing tax-related documents and reports.
- **Record Maintenance**:
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Safeguard sensitive financial information.
- **Collaboration**:
- Work closely with the Finance Manager and other team members to ensure efficient financial operations.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
**Education**:
- D1-D4 (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Bookkeeping: 3 years (preferred)
