The position is accountable for the tax affairs of Orica’s Indonesia operations. It will ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and Orica policies and procedures. It will provide strategic tax advice to the business, implement the tax strategy, assist with transfer pricing documentation, be directly involved in projects and tax governance in the region, and manage local tax disputes. The position has close working relationships with Tax Group, local finance and legal.**What you will be doing**
- Ensure compliance to Orica’s Tax Standard, Tax Procedures and Tax Guidelines.
- Manage a local tax team of two (2).
- Prepare tax effect accounting and workpaper for external auditor queries.
- Coordinate the preparation and filing of direct, indirect and withholding tax returns including management of external service providers.
- Assist with the management of the effective tax rate, including tax losses, efficient repatriation of profits (withholding taxes), tax efficient structures and thin capitalisation.
- Assist with transfer pricing compliance and documentation.
- Implement and monitor effective tax risk management strategies. For example, progressive improvement to processes and documentation.
- Manage tax risk reviews and audits by revenue authorities. Proactively drive the resolution of legacy tax audits.
- Monitor and proactively manage legislative changes, including communicating the impact of changes to interested stakeholders.
- Coordinate finance staff and / or external service providers to ensure local tax compliance, timely filing of returns and payment of tax.
- Assist with the management of tax implications of M&A proposals and group structuring initiatives - new entities, removing entities and tax implications of country entry.
- Manage the relationship with revenue authorities and external advisors.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement in the tax compliance and tax reporting functions.

**What you will bring**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Law
- Professional designation CPA or ACA or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax, transfer pricing, tax treaties, income source rules and GST principles
- Experience in international tax law and IFRS tax reporting
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience in the tax department of a large company, tax or financial management. Background in a Big 4 firm is an advantage
- Business advisory experience preferred
- Experience in managing tax audits and relationships with revenue authorities is an advantage
- Knowledge of SAP and Thomson Reuters Onesource Products is an advantage
