Job Overview:
We are looking for a Purchasing-Sourcing Specialist to join our growing team As a Purchasing-Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing the purchasing team, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for a company.
Job Role:
- Handle product sourcing, find potential suppliers, obtain samples, and compare prices and quality to aid merchandise selection.
- Generate purchase orders based on requisitions from various departments, ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, track and monitor order status to ensure on-time delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, discounts, and payment terms to achieve cost savings., work within budget constraints and seek cost-effective procurement solutions.
- Collaborate with quality control or assurance teams to ensure purchased products meet specified standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and changes in supplier landscapes, analyze market data to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Work closely with other departments, such as inventory management, production, and finance, to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with end-users to understand their needs and preferences.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or related field is typically preferred.
- Min. 2 years of experience in leading purchasing/sourcing team (experience in a fashion retail industry is required).
- Understanding of the industry in which the company operates, including knowledge of market dynamics, suppliers, and products.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, discounts, and contracts with suppliers.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess supplier performance, evaluate cost structures, and make data-driven decisions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interactions with suppliers, team members, and other departments.
- Familiarity with SCM software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Thorough attention to detail in reviewing purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documents
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, supplier landscapes, and organizational needs.
