Site Supervisor

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity through its Indonesia entity, PT AHK Testing Indonesia, who is looking for a Site Supervisor to join our team based in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. PT AHK Testing Indonesia provides independent analysis and inspection services to the metals, minerals and solid fuels industries. We have a well-earned reputation for our knowledge and professionalism in all aspects of weighing, sampling and analysis.

Reporting to the Site Manager, this role acts as the bridge between the Site Manager, Laboratory staff, preparation staff, and sampler staff focusing on the execution of technical procedures, staff supervision, and quality control. This position ensures that all laboratory processes, from sample receipt to result reporting, are conducted efficiently and in strict compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards..

The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the technical performance of all staff, ensuring that all testing methods for nickel matte and raw materials are performed accurately and in accordance with established protocols. This role includes the implementation of quality control procedures, regular monitoring of analytical processes, and providing technical guidance to ensure that all testing meets client specifications and industry best practices. Additionally, the Lab Supervisor manages day-to-day laboratory activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and troubleshooting operational issues. They also play a key role in maintaining a safe and compliant laboratory environment, ensuring that safety regulations are followed and that staff are trained in proper safety procedures.

**DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?**

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

**Required Competencies**
- Ability to plan and implement method development and validation work
- Knowledgeable in implementing and maintaining quality control procedures and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. Such as ISO 17025, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- Troubleshooting knowledge and general problem solving
- Strong organizational abilities to manage laboratory workflows, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, and other stakeholders.

**Required Work Experience**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Laboratory Supervisor and/or 5 years as a Laboratory Analyst/Chemist
- Expertise in laboratory techniques and equipment, including XRF, ICP, and AAS

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience in managing laboratory operations, including method development, equipment maintenance, and quality control
