About the Role
This role provides legal advice and corporate governance support for PT Bank ANZ Indonesia (“the Bank”). The Corporate Lawyer is expected to proactively assist and support Head of Legal in managing the provision of legal advices and corporate governance support to the relevant business units.
The incumbent is the legal adviser to all business units of the Bank, supporting Head of Legal for both complex transactional and advisory matters. This role also supports corporate secretarial, governance, risk, compliance and enablement partners of the Bank. The incumbent must be proactive and capable of working with limited supervision
What will your day look like?
Provide technical, strategic, solutions-orientated and regulatory advice related to legal, corporate governance, risk and business stakeholders across the business units, helping to ensure the right outcomes are achieved.
Negotiate and draft documentation, and assist with the execution of the business’ complex transactions.
Develop and maintain standard legal documentation, templates, guides and checklists, ensuring consistency of documentation across Institutional.
Engage external legal advisers in a manner that ensures value for money and appropriate cost control, and where possible, keep work in-house rather than briefing external lawyers.
Support the business and its operational and risk partners to understand the legal and regulatory landscape, global trends and risks in the execution of their strategic plans, helping to implement change as appropriate
Negotiate and draft documentation, and assist with execution of business agreements, including contracts with the Bank and other related group entities, as well as third parties;
Provide advice on regulation ,compliance and assistance with remediation activities, regulatory enquiries or investigations, requests for information, disputes, complaints or other issues faced by the supported business;
What will you bring?
More than 8 years post-qualification experience as a lawyer either as an in-house counsel and/or private practice with strong technical legal expertise in banking and finance law, and a proven ability to exercise excellent judgement in the identification and management of legal risk.Tertiary legal qualification and admission as a lawyer in Indonesia.
Understanding of the specific business supported by the role, including the products distributed by the business to its customers
Understanding of the legal, regulatory, operational and commercial risks relevant to the businesses and region.
A well-developed risk radar, as well as confidence to speak-up and escalate risks appropriately.Soft skills,communication skills, stakeholder management skills, prioritization and organizational skills that in each case allows.
The holder of this role to deliver work ranging from low complexity with no supervision to the most complex with limited supervision.
