Analyzer Technician

**Job Purpose**
Execute analyzer maitenance activities and assigned projects on time and within budged and in order to increase equipment availability and reliability. Ensure smooth and reliable operation of the analyzer through the implementation of preventive maintenance program and coordination of efforts with internal and external stakeholders in order to make sure that relevant maintenance works are completed in an effective and timely manner.

**Key Accountabilities**
**Routine Duties**
- Carry out maintenance activities in an effecient and effective manner, in line with the annual business plans and departmenatal policies and procedures
- Complete all assignment of tasks, performance appraisal, trainings and maintain proper tools and equiptment in order to make sure the unit equipment perform reliably
- Complete maintenance certification process of Instrument Technicians for Q-Chem and Q-Chem II
- Carry out troubleshooting of problems accouring in the units and implement corrective actions
- Ensure the safety aspects of the organization like safety alerts, ciculars, policy changes and medical circulars are read and understood correctly and follow them in their daily jobs
- Conduct JSAs for all the critical and routine works and owns the process
- Attend and participates in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, RCA sessions. etc.

**Shutdowns and Turnarounds**
- Assist in planning, organizing and implementing shutdowns, turnarounds and emergencies in order to ensure safe and timely executions of tasks

**Plant Maintenance**
- Ensure that works processes are implemented as per standards and procedures
- Maintain high level of availbility of the analyzers within area of responsibility
- Identify spare parts requirements of each quiptment. Identifies required special tools to carry out this activities
- Review spare parts in warehouse to identify missing spares. Communicate to his supervisor to het spares and tools required.
- Install, maintains, repairs, overhauls, calibrates ans tests a wide variety of industiral instrumentation that record, indicate, control, totalize, regulate level, flow, pressure, temperature and analysis including the transmitters
- Make periodic preventive maintenance inspections of all analyzers
- Lay out, install and place into service new metering, controlling and recording devices and Calibrating as required
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, P&I drawings and specifications in making installations or performing major repair work
- Troubleshoot analyzers software and hardware, perform software changes and maintains documentation of changes to the software and hardware
- Troubleshooting, repair & maintain different types of analyzers like Gas Chromatograph, Oxygen, PH, Silica, Hydrocarbon, CEMS analyze... etc
- Carry out daily routine inspections including Preventive Maintenance for analyzers and maintain appropriate records
- Communicate and present to supervisor, analysis of problems faced in the field. Communicates with other trade technicians to verfiy analyzers problems and solutions
- Implement predictive maitenance program and assist in equipment inspections, testing and troubleshooting in order to avoid major escalations and ensure minimum disruptions caused by equipment breakdowns
- Assist in managing the instrument maintenance works on Q-Chems's assets are required ensuring minimum disrupptions with regard to equpiment breakdowns
- Assist in all analyzer inspections and equipment test are done in line with the Maintenance Strategy
- Assist in preparation of Standard Maintenance Procedures for analyzers
- Assist in failure analysis of repeated problems in the area of responsibilities
- Provide mentoring and work directions / instructions to base load technicians
- Work hands-on during regular work days, irregular shifts, shut downs and on call schedules
- Complete applicable performance appraisal process periodically
- Assume role of DSRs for varioys contactors for their assigned works / routine works when assigned as DOA
- Properly follow SMP's and checklists in the fieled during maintenance actiities
- Assist in creation of SMP and checklists for different equipment and PM plans and SMPs for new equipment / project added to the plant/plants

**QHSSE**
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant QHSSE procedures and controls accross the section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high quality products/services

**Qualifications**
**Educations**:

- Required: 3 years Diploma in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering or High School / Higher National Diploma with at least 5 years's experience in the Q-Chem Maintenance Dept is a suitable alternative to 3 years Diploma
- Preferred : Bachelor Degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

**Experience**:

- Required : Total of 3-5 years of experience in Oil and Gas Industry in Maintenance as Instrument Technician
- Preferred: Total of 3-5 years of experience in Petrochemicals Industry
