Data Engineer

**About the role**:
We are a data driven company - we take pride in being hypothesis driven; our experimentation platform Litmus, has made it possible to run targeted experiments on-demand to guide our super app, driver app product experience and business decisions. We are now in the process of evolving it to the next level through automation at scale and building decision ready analytics systems. In this role as our Data Engineer for the Experimentation Team, you will be handed the reins to build A/B tests analytical metric intelligent experimentation platform for Gojek. You will be in charge of writing ELT/ETL pipeline code in Batch and store them in an OLAP store for exploratory analytics. Some work involves in pre-aggregate billions of clickstream events, provide real time querying capabilities scanning billions of rows from a OLAP store. Working closely with backend engineers and data scientists, you will get to contribute to the system that runs meaningful experiments for Gojek.

**What You Will Do**:

- Code, Design, prototype, perform reviews and consult in the process of building highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems for running massive exploratory analytics for Experimentation platform in Gojek
- Build a highly scalable data processing batch pipelines to process and analyze petabytes of data from Datawarehouse
- Build pipelines using Airflow, python, java to join billions of rows between tables in BigQuery using ELT/ETL jobs
- PoC, Evaluate querying technologies or stack that serves data in realtime scanning billions of rows from a timerseries or cold storage
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with product, data science teams
- Continue to stay abreast of the latest technologies in Experimentation and Big Data space to inform/suggest new technologies and best practices to trial

**What You Will Need**:

- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying large scale real-time or ELT pipelines in any language (Java, Python) or stack
- Experience using NoSQL datastores like Clickhouse, BigTable or Presto
- Experience building distributed data processing using Spark/Flink
- Experience using Datawarehouse tech like BigQuery or Redshift
- Experience in containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
- Passion for learning new things and solving complex engineering blockers

**Bonus Points If**:

- Experience working in A/B test platform, big data NoSQL stores like Clickhouse, BigTable, Presto
- Expereince working in Java, Python
