**Program Background**
- Poverty Alleviation and Comprehensive, Inclusive and Adaptive Social Protection (PROAKTIF) is a three-year partnership between the Government of Australia and the Government of Indonesia, to strengthen Indonesia’s social protection policies and systems. A central feature of the program is that it provides support to The Community Welfare Policy Assistance Team (formerly known as TNP2K Policy team), a policy think tank which provides evidence-based policy advice and coordination across a range of GoI ministries and agencies. This longstanding partnership has contributed to Australia and Indonesia’s joint goals to address poverty and inequality and reduce barriers to inclusive economic growth. PROAKTIF has two outcomes, first, to facilitate The Community Welfare Policy Assistance Team (formerly known as TNP2K Policy team) in making an effective contribution to reforming and improving poverty alleviation programs; and second, to optimize The Community Welfare Policy Assistance Team (formerly known as TNP2K Policy team) performance, including in the promotion of gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and performance monitoring.

**The Role**
- The Policy Development Researcher serves as a pivotal member of the Research, Development, and Data Management team, making significant contributions to Policy Assistance Team’s mission of crafting evidence-based policies to accelerate poverty alleviation in Indonesia. Working closely with the Senior Policy Research Specialist, this role primarily involves generating empirical evidence crucial for shaping policy recommendations. Additionally, the researcher is responsible for overseeing a macroeconomic database to fortify the evidence-based policy-making process. Moreover, this position entails providing comprehensive support to all team members throughout the entire data generation and analysis phases, encompassing tasks such as conducting thorough literature reviews and employing statistical software tools like Tableau, Stata, R, and Python for analysing existing and potential policy initiatives.

**About You**
- **Education and experience**:

- Minimum bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, math, or related fields.
- Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in policy analysis and decision-making processes.
- Quick learner with a strong desire to acquire new knowledge.
- Experience in data collection relevant to poverty or public policy.
- Proficiency in statistical software like Stata, R, Python, and SPSS.
- Proficient in macroeconomic dataset and data management methodologies.
- Proven experience collaborative work with line ministries.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Established expertise in both macro and microeconomic policy.
- Proven capability to manage extensive datasets, including outlier identification.
- Verified ability to produce outputs akin to the responsibilities of this role.
- Excellent proficiency in statistical software and spatial tools.
- Experience in field data collection or collaboration with external agencies.
- **Interpersonal Skills**:

- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work very effectively with relevant research stakeholders.
- Proven excellent presentational and writing skills.
