Geotechnical Laboratory Quality Controller

Geotechnical Laboratory Quality Controller is essential in upholding the laboratory's credibility and ensuring the highest level of confidence in test results. This role significantly impacts the organization by enforcing rigorous quality standards, thereby enhancing the reliability of our geotechnical analyses and supporting the organisation’s commitment to delivering superior engineering solutions.

Geotechnical Laboratory Quality Controller actively collaborates with laboratory manager, engineers and technicians to reinforce a culture of quality. By providing expertise and oversight on quality assurance protocols, this role ensures that all internal stakeholders are aligned in their commitment to excellence, enabling the delivery of accurate and dependable geotechnical data for the organisation's projects and clients.

Below are the key responsibilities as a Geotechnical Laboratory Quality Controller:
Quality Assurance Oversight- Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to meet laboratory accreditation standards and industry best practices.- Regularly review testing protocols to ensure they comply with current standards and make updates as necessary.

Quality Control Management- Conduct routine quality control checks, including cross-testing and calibration of equipment.- Monitor the accuracy and repeatability of test results, identifying trends and initiating corrective action when necessary.

Documentation and Record Keeping- Maintain comprehensive records of quality control data, audits, and corrective actions taken.- Ensure all documentation is complete, up to date and readily accessible for audits.

Audit Facilitation- Lead internal audits to verify adherence to quality protocols and manage external audits by accreditation bodies.

Team Training and Development- Train laboratory staff on quality assurance procedures and updates to testing protocols.- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the laboratory team.

Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement- Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive measures.- Recommend improvements to testing processes to enhance quality and efficiency.

**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Geotechnical Engineering, Quality Management or related field.- Relevant experience in a geotechnical laboratory setting with a focus on quality control.- Relevant experience in ISO 17025 accreditation by Komite Akreditasi Nasional (KAN) or equivalent national bodies.- In-depth understanding of ISO 17025 standards and accreditation requirements for geotechnical laboratories.- Proven track record of managing quality control systems and conducting audits.- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.- Familiarity with MS office. Proficiency in Excel VBA will be advantageous.- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.- Fluent written and verbal English proficiency.
