Senior Bookkeeper

BukuBuku is a dynamic Accounting and Bookkeeping consulting company, specializing in the Xero Accounting platform. We are based in Legian, Bali with customers worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team and play a key role in managing client accounts and mentoring junior staff. If you have experience in this role, our position may be appropriate for you.

In this position, you will work directly with employees and clients in English so your English communication skills must be strong. We will interview about 10 minutes in English by phone as the initial stage of the recruitment process.

Requirements :

• On-site work (offline work at Bali office for 8hr).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within an outsourcing or shared services environment.
• Fluent in English - both spoken & written (this is a must).
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or equivalent) and Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively.
• Having Australian Accounting System experience is plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-service mindset.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Manage full sets of accounts for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Handle general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and closing activities.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and tax computations.
• Review and analyse financial data to identify variances and provide insights to management or clients.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and liaise with auditors, tax agents, and other external stakeholders.
• Support process improvements and automation initiatives within the accounting function.
• Supervise and review work of junior accountants, providing guidance and training as needed.
