We are seeking a motivated and talented Data Engineer Intern with an engineering background to join our Data Platform and Engineering team. This internship is an excellent opportunity to learn, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop your data engineering skills in a supportive environment.

What Are We Looking For

Educational Background: A last-year student, graduated student, or bootcamp graduate in any degree who has course relevance in critical thinking, analytical mindset, and/or business acumen is preferred.

Experiences: Maximum of 1 year of experience in data engineering or a related role.

Technical Skills:

A. Data Engineering and ETL:

  • Basic understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes.

  • Ability to write basic SQL queries.

B. Programming and Tools:

  • Familiarity with Python and basic data manipulation (e.g., Pandas).

  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.

  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) is a plus.

C. Data Processing and Analysis:

  • Basic understanding of data cleaning and validation.

  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Problem-solving attitude and attention to detail.

  • Passion for staying updated with the latest trends in data science and engineering, cloud computing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Looker Studio, Tableau, PowerBI).

  • Knowledge of data modeling and transformation tools, such as dbt (data built tool).

  • Proven ability to work with AI-related tools, such as ChatGPT/Gemini/ClaudeAI on a day to day basis.

  • Proven the ability to communicate clearly and have a growth mindset

What Will You Do

  • Assist senior data engineers in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.

  • Support the team in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data warehouse and data mart layers.

  • Help document data pipelines, models, and processes under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Assist in performing data quality checks and implementing data governance practices.

  • Provide support to team members in troubleshooting data-related issues.

  • Learn from senior data engineers by participating in code reviews and team discussions.

  • Develop AI-powered tools for data engineering use cases, such as dbt file generator, documentation generator, etc.
