The "Consulting Business," "Urban & Spatial Development Business," and "Energy Business," which were previously the business divisions of Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. Work Environment

We are looking for a QHSE Engineer to support efficiently the expansion of our activities in Energy. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) programs to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and Indonesian regulations. This role plays a critical part in promoting a safe work environment, preventing incidents, and driving continuous improvement in QHSE practices across all project sites. You will evolve in an international environment and work in close coordination with other teams throughout the company to deliver projects at the highest quality standards.

Missions

• Design, implement, communicate, and coordinate all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) programs.
• Drive the goal of "Zero" serious incidents/accidents and reinforce the principle that all incidents are preventable.
• Prepare QHSE plans, safety procedures, and related documentation.
• Conduct inspections of equipment prior to mobilization and operation to ensure safety compliance.
• Supervise project activities to ensure adherence to QHSE standards on-site.
• Deliver general and site-specific induction programs for new employees.
• Provide basic safety training (e.g., working at height, confined space, risk assessment, rope rescue, knots, and LOTO).
• Organize and lead safety meetings and training sessions.
• Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and safe work procedures.
• Monitor workforce compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Advise teams on safety requirements based on company and client standards.
• Coordinate risk assessments and ensure implementation of necessary safety precautions.
• Manage and enforce work permit systems.
• Perform routine checks on safety and firefighting equipment.
• Ensure workplace activities comply with company and government HSE regulations.
• Investigate or assist in investigating work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, and dangerous events; prepare reports accordingly.
• Promote hazard observation, HSE system improvements, and new safety initiatives.
• Prepare and submit safety reports.
• Ensure full implementation of all HSE programs.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in complex plant projects (e.g., power plant, oil & gas, petrochemical, cement plant, infrastructure).
• Experience in power plant projects is highly desirable.
• Certified in HSE or K3LH with strong knowledge of Indonesian HSE laws and regulations.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability in decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Willing to work at various project sites across Indonesia.
