Associate Manager- Accounting

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Assistant Manager will lead control testing, audit coordination, and remediation tracking. Oversee quarterly risk reporting and facilitate risk workshops. Manage insurance operations and broker relationships across SEA. Champion governance and compliance initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Internal Controls & Audit Support

• Oversee control testing (Control Self-Assessments, ITGC, Entity Level Controls) and ensure timely remediation
• Lead internal/external audit coordination, including documentation and walkthroughs
• Respond to fraud, cybersecurity, and compliance inquiries with strategic insight
• Maintain and enhance SOPs and process documentation

Enterprise Risk Management

• Design and facilitate annual risk surveys and bowtie analysis workshops
• Monitor top risks and mitigation progress across entities
• Prepare quarterly risk dashboards for regional and global GRC committees
• Engage risk owners to ensure accountability and resolution

Insurance Operations

• Manage insurance policies and claims across SEA
• Serve as primary liaison with brokers and internal stakeholders
• Coordinate renewals (PDBI, D&O, Marine Cargo, etc.) and ensure coverage alignment
• Review contracts for insurance clauses and risk exposure

Governance & Compliance

• Support sustainability reporting, data retention reviews, and ISO audits
• Drive process improvement workshops and control enhancements
• Assist in training coordination as L&D Chairperson (optional)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in audit, risk, or finance operations
• Ideally with experience working in one of the big four audit firms and has regional exposure
• Professional qualification (CIA, CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Strong analytical and documentation skills; experience with SQL, data analytics, and visualization tools
• Deep understanding of COSO/ERM frameworks and control environments
• Proven ability to lead across entities and functions with minimal supervision
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Prior experience in insurance coordination highly desirable
• Familiarity with SAP, OneStream, and GRC tools preferred
