Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled
Datacenter Technician
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the physical infrastructure of our data center, ensuring optimal uptime and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, network devices, and storage systems.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics, repairs, and replacements as needed.
  • Monitor data center operations, including power, cooling, and environmental controls.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and access control policies.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist with cabling (fiber and copper) and rack installations.
  • Document all activities, incidents, and changes in the ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with network and system engineers for troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Respond to alerts and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in data center operations or hardware support.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware, networking basics, and storage systems.
  • Familiarity with cabling standards and best practices.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or similar.
