Head Baker

About the role

Sévigné Cookies & Coffee, an artisan bakery in Uluwatu, is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Head Baker to join our team. As the Head Baker, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our baking operations, from developing new recipes to ensuring the consistent high quality of our signature cookies, pastries and breads. This is a full-time position based in our bakery.

What you'll be doing

1. Leading and managing the baking team to ensure the efficient and timely production of all baked goods
2. Developing and testing new recipes to expand our product offerings and stay ahead of market trends
3. Ensuring the highest standards of food safety and sanitation are maintained in the bakery
4. Overseeing the ordering and inventory management of all baking ingredients and supplies
5. Collaborating with the management team to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
6. Providing hands-on training and mentoring to junior bakers to develop their skills
7. Representing the bakery at industry events and networking with peers to stay informed of the latest trends

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 4 years of experience as a Head Baker or in a senior baking role within a high-quality artisanal bakery
2. Proven track record of developing innovative baked goods recipes and managing a team of bakers
3. In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment, as well as an understanding of food science principles
4. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot production issues and implement process improvements
5. Strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively manage the bakery team and collaborate with the broader business
6. Passion for creating exceptional baked goods and a deep understanding of the artisanal baking industry
