Forestry Technical Writer

This position is with an environmental-community development non-profit foundation running Indonesian reforestation projects with fundraising in both local and international markets. The organization is growing quickly and presents an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to grow and develop with the foundation.

Job Description: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented writer to create compelling case studies on our forestry projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing, excellent research skills, and a passion for environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough research on assigned forestry projects, including background, objectives, methodologies, and outcomes

Interview with project staff and stakeholders to gather firsthand information and quotes

Analyze project data and results to draw meaningful conclusions and insights

Write clear, concise, and engaging case studies that highlight the project sponsor's goals, the project's challenges, solutions, and outcomes

Ensure that case studies are accessible and engaging for non-technical readers

Write project descriptions for the organization's website to promote and fundraise the projects

Write and manage content describing projects on 3rd party forestry project platforms

Contribute short project stories for blogs, social media, and annual reports

Ensure accuracy and high quality in all written content

Requirements:

English language writing skills or the ability to produce accurate English language documents with online tools is required

Proven experience in writing case studies or similar content

Strong research and analytical skills

Excellent writing and communication skills

Ability to conduct interviews and gather detailed information

Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Have a basic understanding of forestry or environmental science

Ability to write for a non-technical audience

Experience in writing promotional and fundraising content is a plus.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Willing to work on-site in Semarang, Central Java.
