Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the sheep farm, including feeding, breeding, lambing, health monitoring, and barn hygiene.
• Implement and continuously improve sheep husbandry practices that promote high standards of animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
• Monitor animal health and provide proper care, including access to quality feed, clean water, and safe shelter.
• Work closely with veterinarians or trained personnel to administer vaccinations and medication as needed.
• Manage breeding programs, track growth performance, and optimize production output.
• Detect and respond to signs of illness, injury, or stress in animals; document and escalate issues appropriately.
• Conduct regular pen repairs, ensure proper fencing, and maintain clean, safe facilities.
• Train and guide junior farm workers on proper sheep handling, feeding, biosecurity, and safety protocols.
• Prepare and manage farm operational budgets, including procurement of feed, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure farm compliance with relevant government and industry regulations (e.g., animal welfare, environmental protection, biosecurity).
• Keep detailed records of livestock, health treatments, feed usage, and production performance.
• Support the development and adoption of modern technology and digital tools in sheep farming.
• Contribute to the long-term strategy for sustainable growth and innovation in sheep farming practices.

Requirements

• Willing to be stationed in North Tapanuli, North Sumatra, and travel outside the region when necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Animal Husbandry (Peternakan), Agribusiness, or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in livestock farming, preferably in sheep or small ruminants.
• Good understanding of sheep care, health management, breeding, and lambing practices.
• Familiarity with farm budgeting, feed planning, and cost control.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and sound decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office for farm documentation and reporting.
• Detail-oriented, disciplined, and committed to high standards of animal care.
• Able to adapt to technological developments and industry changes.
• Strong analytical and planning skills to drive farm performance.
