About the Role

Jakarta Multicultural School is seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Needs Education Teacher to support the learning and development of students with diverse educational needs. This role involves creating individualized and inclusive learning experiences that promote academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence, in alignment with the school's multicultural ethos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student.
  • Provide engaging, differentiated instruction across academic, social, and life skills domains.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and self-advocacy.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, parents, school counselors, and shadow teachers to support students' holistic development.
  • Use appropriate teaching methods, resources, and assistive technologies to facilitate learning.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate students' progress and development regularly.
  • Support school-wide initiatives, events, and activities related to inclusion and student well-being.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Prior experience teaching or supporting students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of learning differences, developmental challenges, and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and commitment to student-centered learning.
  • Ability to work respectfully within a multicultural and diverse school community.
