Summary
The Sales Associate is responsible for driving revenue growth by prospecting, qualifying, and closing sales for the company's range of security services and equipment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of security solutions, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
Proactively identify and generate new sales leads through cold-calling, networking, referrals, and territory canvassing.
- Conduct in-depth needs analysis with potential clients (residential and/or commercial) to understand their specific security vulnerabilities and requirements.
- Develop and present customized security proposals, outlining technical specifications, service agreements, and pricing.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales to achieve or surpass monthly and annual sales quotas.
Technical Consultation:
Maintain expert knowledge of all company security products, including alarm systems, CCTV, access control, monitoring services, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Conduct site surveys and walk-throughs to accurately assess customer needs and design appropriate system configurations.
- Clearly articulate the value proposition and technical aspects of security solutions to non-technical audiences.
Account Management & Reporting:
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships to ensure high client satisfaction and foster repeat business/referrals.
- Manage and update a sales pipeline using the company's CRM system (e.g., Salesforce).
- Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasting to the Sales Manager.
- Coordinate with the installation and technical teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client onboarding.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Proven minimum of 1-3 years of sales experience, preferably in the security, technology, or a related services industry.
Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Other: Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for frequent travel within the assigned territory.
Highly Desired
- Knowledge of industry-specific security systems (e.g., UL standards, alarm codes, video analytics).
- Experience selling both products/equipment and recurring monitoring/service contracts.
- Existing network or familiarity with the local residential and/or commercial market.
