The Associate Head of Fraud and Risk Management will be responsible for building, driving, and monitoring the back-end operations while ensuring that all entities comply with the KYC/AML, and their transaction controls are set according to their KYC fulfillment. A seasoned professional with experience in Financial Services Fraud Risk Management, Collections, channel management, with sound knowledge of processes, people, and compliances.

What your current role should be like?

• Minimum 8 years of experience in fraud and risk management within financial services or payment systems, with proven expertise in implementing KYC/AML frameworks and mitigating fraud risks effectively.
• Leadership experience managing risk assessment, audits, and compliance in fast-paced environments like Series A or growth-stage startups.
• Hands-on experience with fraud detection tools and familiarity with regulatory compliance processes to ensure operational integrity.
• Strategic mindset, capable of balancing calculated risks with robust decision-making to develop innovative risk management solutions.
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive secure and reliable financial operations.

What will you do?

• Perform risk assessments, audits, staff training sessions, and monitor network activity.
• Work closely with development teams to implement and automate systems and architectures.
• Drive automation efforts across the organization utilizing containerized deployment on Kubernetes.
• Deploy and maintain stateful services on Kubernetes, including databases, Rabbit MQ, Kafka, Elasticsearch, etc. on non-prod environments in Kubernetes.
• Setup and maintain monitoring of systems via Prometheus and Grafana to be on top of all production systems, go one step further with automated healing.
• Perform configuration management through Puppet, Chef or similar tools.
• Utilize Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Delivery (CD) tools such as Jenkins/Google Cloud build/Spinnaker.
• Develop and maintain scalable architecture solutions using Cloud Providers such as GCP and AWS.
• Optimize GCP/AWS usage to get maximum cost benefit from the deployed resources.
• Collaborate with peers as a subject matter expert on cloud, containers, virtualization technologies, automation, and DevOps.
• Build engineering tools, system dashboards, and monitoring alerts (ELK, StackDriver, CloudWatch) to avoid false alarms without missing actual ones.
• Monitor dependencies, integrations (APIs), and have hands-on experience with cloud services like VPC, Compute, Database, Document Storage, Messaging queues, etc.
• Install, administer, and troubleshoot network security solutions.
• Update software with the latest security patches and ensure the proper defenses are present for each network resource.
• Perform vulnerability and penetration tests, identify and defend against threats, and develop disaster recovery plans.
• Configure security systems, analyze security requirements, and recommend improvements.
• Configure and support security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software.

Requirements

What do you have?

• B. Tech/ M. Tech/MCA with minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps.
• Professional level cloud certifications in GCP/AWS are desirable but not mandatory.
• Passionate about solving challenges, taking ownership, and learning fast.
• An associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security, or a related field.
• Advanced training certifications may be advantageous.
• Must be comfortable working in an early stage to growth stage company and should be able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Have a proven track record of success in previous roles and have worked in a similar setting, such as a Pre series A-B company will be a plus.
• A leader who takes fun in taking risks and understands that taking calculated risks is necessary for growth. They should have the ability to balance risk-taking with sound decision-making to build something innovative and groundbreaking.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
• Fast learner and stay up to date on emerging technologies.
• Collaborate and work in a start-up environment and go the extra mile.
• Ability to develop clear and concise documentation.
