About Senior Furniture & Product Designer

Senior Furniture & Product Designers are responsible for the conceptualization, look and feel of the furnitures, home decor products, and any interior/ architectural items that we develop in the company. They're tasked with concepting & creating new pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional, while also ensuring that these designs can be mass-produced at a reasonable cost. Senior Furniture & Product Designers must have an eye for detail and an understanding of human anatomy and physiology. They must also be able to work well in a team environment—they rely on engineers, woodworkers, metal workers, fabricators, etc., to help bring their ideas to life.

What You Will Do

• Carry out research to help develop ideas.
• Produce new designs, or improve existing ones
• Creating sketches and drawings of new designs using software such as CAD or other 3D softwares.
• Meeting to discuss needs and preferences and recommending materials, colors, and styles that will meet their goals.
• Take into account size, shape, ergonomics and production methods when producing design ideas.
• Meeting with suppliers to select materials that meet the designer's requirements for quality and cost.
• Developing a thorough understanding of current trends in style so new designs will be desirable to consumers.
• Reviewing existing furniture designs to identify opportunities for improvement or change.
• Creating models of new designs for testing in physical simulations such as ergonomic studies such as sitting positions in chairs.
• Lead junior designers to align with product design & development directions.

What You Will Need

• Diploma (D3)/ Bachelor's degree (S1)/ Master's degree (S2) in furniture design, industrial design, interior design, architecture or related field
• Minimum 4 years professional experience in furniture designing.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in furniture design company/ manufacturing sector.
• Creativity and practical ability.
• Proficient in CAD base or other 3D/ similar software
• Strong portfolio of previous work.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to worked full time on site in Semarang/ Kudus, Central Java, Indonesia.
