A subject teacher at Sekolah Victory Plus, plays a vital role in supporting the transdisciplinary model of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) while fostering the development of students' Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, IB Learner Profile attributes, and the Champion Mindset. The role focuses on creating engaging, challenging, and inquiry-based learning experiences that integrate seamlessly with the PYP framework and school-wide initiatives.

Teaching and Learning:

· Demonstrate expertise in your subject area and deliver engaging, inquiry-based, and concept-driven lessons.

· Actively integrate ATL skills into all lessons, encouraging students to think critically, reflect, and take ownership of their learning.

· Promote and model IB Learner Profile attributes and SVP Champion values through classroom interactions and learning experiences.

· Apply differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs and inspire students to achieve their best.

· Use SeeSaw as a platform to document, assess, and communicate student learning.

· Employ varied assessment strategies that reflect student learning and provide meaningful feedback to guide progress.

· Maintain up-to-date marking, assessments, and records in alignment with IB requirements.

· Ensure student safety, welfare, and resource care in all learning environments.

· Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies, fostering a respectful and collaborative classroom culture.

Collaboration and Planning:

· Work collaboratively with the PYP Coordinator, grade-level teams, and other subject teachers to align learning experiences with the transdisciplinary themes of the PYP.

· Participate in collaborative planning and reflection meetings, including level weekly planning, PYP/whole school meetings, and committee discussions.

· Ensure planning aligns with the IB PYP sequence, areas of inquiry, and progression of learning.

· Develop weekly and long-term plans that support student inquiry and engagement.

Professional Development:

· Participate in sharing sessions, school-based training, and external conferences to stay informed about developments in your subject area and PYP pedagogy.

· Share expertise and best practices in your field when required.

· Engage in professional growth through classroom observations, feedback sessions, and lesson studies.

Resource Management:

· Create a stimulating, visually appealing classroom environment that reflects student learning and inquiry.

· Develop and utilize additional resources to support differentiation and improve instruction.

· Integrate technology effectively into teaching and be prepared to showcase its use in public and professional settings.

· Promote care and respect for all school materials and resources.

Student Well-being and Community Engagement:

· Provide pastoral support by responding to students' physical, emotional, and mental needs.

· Celebrate student achievements in assemblies, conferences, and other school events

· Communicate promptly and professionally with parents regarding student progress and incidents.

· Actively support school events, enrichment programs, and extracurricular activitie

· Supervise students during designated times, including morning duty, break, lunch, and special activities.

· Utilize ChatGPT to review all communications intended for parents to ensure clarity, professionalism, and accuracy.

Whole School Engagement:

· Participate in decision-making processes, school improvement initiatives, and consultative meetings.

· Support and contribute to school events, including programs and weekend classes.

· Encourage parent involvement in projects, assemblies, and events to strengthen the school community.

Foster a positive atmosphere that aligns with the school's mission and vision.
