The Role: Video Editor - Remote

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Video Editor to join our growing team at Boo. In this role, you will be responsible for editing short-form and long-form video content for social media platforms, marketing campaigns, and in-app features. You will work closely with our creative, content, and marketing teams to produce high-quality videos that align with our brand and engage our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit raw video footage into polished, engaging content for social media and digital platforms.
  • Add music, sound effects, graphics, and animations as needed.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to understand project goals and brand guidelines.Ensure all video content meets quality, format, and platform-specific requirements.
  • Manage and organize video assets, including maintaining a clear workflow and file structure.
  • Stay updated on video trends, editing techniques, and social platform best practices.
  • Optimize videos for different aspect ratios and resolutions (e.g., 9:16, 16:9, 1:1).
  • Ensure timely delivery of video projects under tight deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Video Editor, ideally within a social media or digital content environment.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Basic knowledge of motion graphics (After Effects is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take direction while bringing creative ideas to the table.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time-management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience editing content specifically for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or Snapchat.
  • Familiarity with color correction and audio mixing.
  • Experience with camera operation and basic production tasks is a plus.
