Senior Security Consultant – Cisco Firepower 6000

We are seeking a
Senior Security Consultant
with deep expertise in
Cisco Firepower 6000 Series Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW)
and
Security Service Edge (SSE)
solutions to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-grade security architectures. The role involves leading complex security engagements, advising customers on zero trust and cloud-delivered security strategies, and delivering end-to-end implementations across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.

You will act as a
technical authority and trusted advisor
, working closely with customers, project managers, sales teams, and security stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and measurable security outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Cisco Firepower 6000 Series (NGFW)

• Lead
  design, deployment, and migration
  of Cisco Firepower 6000 Series appliances in large enterprise and data center environments
• Implement and optimize:
• Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
• Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
• Advanced Malware Protection (AMP)
• URL filtering and application control
• Perform
  ASA-to-FTD
  and legacy firewall migrations with minimal downtime
• Design
  high availability (HA), clustering, and multi-context
  architectures
• Integrate Firepower with:
• Cisco FMC
• Cisco ISE (pxGrid)
• SIEM / SOC platforms
• Conduct firewall performance tuning, policy optimization, and health checks
• Troubleshoot complex L4–L7 security and network issues

Security Service Edge (SSE)

• Design and implement
  Cisco SSE / cloud-delivered security
  solutions, including:
• Secure Web Gateway (SWG)
• Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB)
• Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)
• DNS-layer security
• Advise customers on
  Zero Trust architecture
  and secure access modernization
• Integrate SSE with identity platforms (Azure AD, Okta, Cisco ISE)
• Support migration from traditional VPN to ZTNA models
• Define security policies for SaaS, cloud apps, and remote workforce access
• Conduct SSE assessments, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and production rollouts

Consulting & Delivery

• Act as
  technical lead
  for security consulting engagements
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into security designs
• Produce high-quality documentation:
• High-level and low-level designs (HLD / LLD)
• Implementation runbooks
• Security architecture diagrams
• Provide knowledge transfer, workshops, and post-implementation support
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to best practices and standards
• Support pre-sales activities:
• Technical presentations
• Solution workshops
• RFP/RFI responses

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in
  network & security engineering / consulting
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Cisco Firepower 6000 Series
• Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) & FMC
• Solid understanding of:
• TCP/IP, routing, switching
• Network segmentation and data center security
• Proven experience with
  SSE / SASE / Zero Trust
  architectures
• Experience integrating security solutions with:
• Identity providers (AD, Azure AD, SSO)
• SIEM / SOC platforms
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Certifications (Preferred)

• Cisco CCNP Security / CCIE Security
• Cisco Firepower Specialist certifications
• SASE / Zero Trust related certifications
• Cloud certifications (AWS / Azure Security) are a plus

Soft Skills

• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead discussions with security, infrastructure, and leadership teams
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills
• Able to work independently and lead complex engagements
