Junior Agronomist

Overall Description of the Position(including purpose and target of the position)We are looking for a graduate in agronomy with about 4-5 years of work experience in agriculture, which is open and ambitious to learn new agronomy techniques and to develop her-/himself into a deputy to the General Manager regarding the agronomy department of the company. The aim of this position is to assure tobacco quality and to support the further development of the production techniques (irrigation, fertigation, etc.) to further improve and develop the quality of our tobacco.Key Responsibilities(in order of priority)Support Area Manager in all daily tobacco production activities and application of the production techniques (irrigation, fertigation, curing etc.)Planning and Organization of cultivation trials, experimentsLeading field workers in cultivation trials, experimentsSpecific Skill RequirementsSolid agricultural educationSolid experience in horticulture techniques (irrigation, fertigation)Solid experience in leading supervisors and workers in the fieldRequired Behavioural CharacteristicsOpen minded, honest, hands on mentality => open and willing to learn new production methods in agronomy/horticultureLeader mentality, enjoys working with people and leading peopleDisciplined, persistent, strong willingness to learn and developAbility to live in a simple and remote environment (on site employee guesthouse with kitchen available or living in town of Bondowoso)Openness for foreign cultures and foreign languages (English)Required Level of Education & ExperianceDegree in Agronomy (Technical High School or University)Min. 4-5 years experience in agriculture as agronomistLanguage RequirementsBahasa (Spoken & Written : Native)English : Spoken (Proficient), Written (Good Knowledge)Mid-/long term PerspectiveOpportunity to learn new production methods in agronomy/horticultureOpportunity to grow into a deputy position for the agronomy department of the companyOpportunity to further develop English skillsOpportunity to grow into a leadership position
