Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Chief Steward to join our team in Jakarta, Indonesia. As the Chief Steward, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the sanitation and equipment management of our food and beverage operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
- Supervise and coordinate daily sanitation operations in all kitchen and storage areas
- Manage and train the stewarding team to meet service standards and maintain strict hygiene protocols
- Ensure all food and beverage outlets are supplied with clean, sanitized equipment and functioning kitchen tools
- Oversee proper chemical usage and safe dishwashing practices
- Develop and manage staff rosters, conduct performance reviews, and foster team development
- Monitor budgets, coordinate with suppliers, and implement cost control measures through efficient resource utilization
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other department heads to maintain smooth kitchen operations
- Drive continuous improvement in operations, service quality, and team engagement
- Uphold workplace health, safety, and environmental commitments
- Lead by example in promoting company values and fostering a positive work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a similar role
- Proven knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Proficiency in chemical handling and safety protocols
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and business acumen
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage budgets and implement cost control measures
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and drive to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with inventory management and supplier coordination
- Proficiency in relevant computer software and systems
- Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is a plus
