Job Description

As an English Trainer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality instruction to adult learners preparing for Cambridge English exams (B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency) or IELTS. You will create an engaging learning environment, provide targeted instruction, and equip students with effective exam techniques to maximize their performance.

Responsibilities

  • Exam-Focused Instruction: Deliver English language instruction tailored to Cambridge English Qualifications and IELTS, ensuring students develop the necessary skills for success.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Teach using the established curriculum, incorporating various teaching methodologies, resources, and real exam materials.
  • Lesson Planning & Assessment: Develop structured lesson plans, activities, and practice tests aligned with exam objectives and student learning outcomes.
  • Skills Development: Focus on enhancing students' proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while reinforcing grammar and vocabulary for exam contexts.
  • Exam Strategies & Techniques: Teach students essential test-taking strategies, time management skills, and question analysis techniques to improve their performance.
  • Feedback & Student Progress: Conduct practice tests, assess student performance, and provide personalized feedback to help students improve.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages participation, critical thinking, and confidence.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest exam formats, scoring criteria, and teaching methodologies through workshops, training, and conferences.
  • Student Support & Guidance: Offer academic counselling and guidance, addressing individual challenges and helping students set realistic language learning goals.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with fellow instructors, academic coordinators, and support staff to ensure consistent program delivery and student success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English Education, or a related field.
  • TEFL, TESOL, TKT, CELTA, or equivalent teaching certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching English to adults, particularly in exam preparation courses (Cambridge English or IELTS).
  • Strong understanding of Cambridge English exam formats and IELTS scoring criteria.
  • Experience using communicative and task-based language teaching approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support adult learners.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs and learning styles.
  • Commitment to professional growth, cultural sensitivity, and inclusion.
  • Willing to work outside Jakarta, such as in West Java or other regions in Indonesia, based on project needs
