The Government of North Macedonia is planning to award Bechtel, along with our joint venture partner, the construction of approximately 110km of dual carriageway motorway.

The project is of significant national importance and the Government of North Macedonia is entrusting the joint venture to fast track the development and construction of these strategic motorways which will form part of the Pan-European Corridors IIIV and Xd, which will enhance North Macedonia’s transport connections with neighbouring countries and support economic and social development.

These four new sections of motorway will continue Bechtel’s legacy in delivering successful motorways in the Balkan region. The North Macedonia motorway consists of two sections in the east heading south from the capital Skopje and running parallel to the Sharr mountains, one section passing through the UNESCO natural world heritage site around Lake Ohrid (one of Europe’s deepest and oldest lakes), with the fourth section in the South of the country close to the border with Greece which will enhance connectivity between the cities of Bitola and Prilep.

**Position Summary**
- Quality Superintendent will provide oversight and assign tasks to QA/QC Inspectors and managing contractor's performances and adhere to Project quality standards and protocols.
- Implement and manage quality control functions/ activities of all construction inspection and testing services including quality control inspection schedules and the collection of quality records to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the established standards.
- Managing quality and workmanship of day to day activities, knowledge of all aspects of engineering and construction relating to Civil, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical discipline interfacing the multidisciplinary processes.
- Must fully understand the quality requirements for the product or service and focuses on defect prevention activities.

**Typical Responsibilities**
- Accountable for the quality and workmanship of every activity, precise knowledge of all aspects of engineering construction relating to Civil, Architectural and Structural discipline interfacing the multidisciplinary processes.
- Work closely with QC team in reviewing requirements for processes or products for contractors/suppliers to coordinate elaboration, validation & monitoring of ITPs (Inspection & Test programs) and subcontractors QC plans to ensure compliance with the Construction Quality Program.
- Develop, review and improve quality control procedures from start to finish, including coordination, review and monitoring of third-party inspections and material testing including all non-destructive testing, certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered, and other important QA/QC documents.
- Provide QC/Inspection reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed/manufactured/fabricated in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the Project manager /Site construction manager on all quality issues and provide inputs in the QA/QC site weekly meetings.
- Coordinate with quality inspections with all the site sub-contractors and vendors coordinate all non-destructive testing on site.
- Organize relevant Quality/Inspection trainings to increase the knowledge of QC in all phases of the Engineering and Construction phases.
- Ensuring legal obligations are followed and are in compliance with regulatory bodies and ES&H guidelines.

**Skills and Qualifications**
