- Female
- Education: Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, psychology, or a related field. Some positions may prefer or require a master's degree.
- Certification/Licensure: Possession of relevant state certification or licensure for school counseling.
- Previous experience working with young children in an educational or counseling setting is often preferred.
- A strong understanding of the cognitive, social, and emotional development of kindergarten and primary school-aged children
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Familiarity with counseling techniques suitable for children, such as play therapy, art therapy, and other age-appropriate interventions.
- Familiarity with the educational system, curriculum, and academic expectations for kindergarten and primary school levels.
- Demonstrated patience and empathy, with the ability to create a safe and trusting environment for students.

**b. responsibilities**
- Individual Counseling: Provide one-on-one counseling sessions with students to address specific academic, social, or emotional concerns.
- Group Counseling: Conduct group counseling sessions to address common issues or themes affecting kindergarten and primary students. This can include social skills groups, friendship groups, or academic support groups.
- Classroom Guidance Lessons: Deliver age-appropriate classroom guidance lessons on topics such as social skills, conflict resolution, bullying prevention, and study skills.
- Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to respond to and provide support during crisis situations that may impact students, such as family issues, trauma, or emergencies.
- Academic Support: Collaborate with teachers to identify academic challenges and implement strategies to support student success. This can include developing study skills, time management, and organizational skills.
- Parent and Teacher Collaboration: Work closely with parents and teachers to address concerns, share insights about student development, and collaborate on strategies to support students.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Use assessment tools to evaluate students' strengths, challenges, and developmental needs. This may include academic assessments, behavioral assessments, and social-emotional assessments.
- Transition Support: Assist students in transitioning to new grade levels or schools, providing guidance and support during periods of change.
- Parent Education: Provide workshops or resources for parents on topics related to child development, effective parenting, and strategies for supporting their children's education.
- Collaboration with School Staff: Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to create a positive and supportive school environment.

Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
