**POSITION**

SEAMSTRESS TEAM LEADER | SUPERVISOR

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

The Seamstress Team Leader will be responsible for strong leadership skills with a deep understanding of sewing techniques and fabric materials to ensure efficient teamwork and high quality output. At times she might be required to take a client's measurements, assist in fabric selection, and arrange fittings to determine whether additional adjustments are needed. the Seamstress Team Leader plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating the work of a team of seamstresses.

**QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATION / LICENSES**

- Certificate / Diploma in fashion
- Degree in fashion design

**EXPERIENCE**
- 2 years with proven experience working as a seamstress
- Minimum two years experience managing staff
- Proven sewing experience
- Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques

**KEY SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE**
- Ability to lead a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and effective communication skills
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the team
- Compiles relevant data and reports on daily activity.
- Ensuring that sewing machines and other equipment are in good working order
- Inspires and motivates the seamstresses to achieve organisational goals., this involves creating a positive work environment,
- Recognizing achievements and providing encouragement
- Ensures that seamstresses receive necessary training to enhance their abilities collaborates with management to define clear objectives for the team.
- These goals by include production targets quality standards for efficiency Improvements
- Ability to work under time constraints
- The ability to safely use different types of sewing machines,
- Excellent organisational, problem solving and time management skills.
- Assigning specific tasks to individual team members by the skills and expertise as an essential responsibility.
- The team leader ensures that work is distributed effectively,
- Tracks productivity. quality and adherence to deadlines. Constructive feedback is provided to help improve performance
- Offering guidance, mentoring and coaching to individual seamstresses helps them develop the skills and overcome challenges
- Experience with pattern making
- Advanced sewing techniques,
- Manages resources, inventory, ordering
