Overview:
Banyan Global is implementing the five-year, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)-funded Financial Inclusion contract to address systemic constraints for women-owned businesses, agribusinesses and smallholder farmers, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to access debt, equity and professional business services. The project leverages financial technology solutions through blended finance.

In Indonesia, Banyan Global is supporting MCC and the Government of Indonesia (GoI)/Compact Development Team in preparing Indonesia II Compact, helping conduct due diligence on MSME Finance project design activities to ensure that they comply with MCCs Gender Policy and women’s economic security and empowerment mandate, so that women will have equal access to all proposed actions and have opportunities to benefit equally.

Banyan Global is currently seeking a short-term consultant to gather information relating to the need of women-owned MSMEs in Indonesia, to contribute to the development of a Scope of Work for the consultant who will implement some components of the MSME Finance Project under Indonesia II Compact preparation. This position is anticipated to be for around 1 1/2 months, with an LOE of 15 days. Indonesian citizens are encouraged to apply.

**Responsibilities**:

- Review background documents provided by MCC
- Provide written summary/comments on background documents as requested
- Prepare and participate in MCC and Banyan Global Technical Calls as requested
- Provide local research to contribute to draft a Scope of Work (SoW) for a MSME Capacity Enhancement Consultant to be funded by Compact Development Funding (CDF) for the detailed design and implementation of the following activities:

- Formalization, permitting and certification of MSMEs, including: assessment of regulatory requirements for women to get a tax ID, business registration in their own names, and activities required to streamline the process without major hurdles. The same applies for getting necessary permits and licenses.
- Market Access Support (MAS) for MSMEs: an assessment of Business Development Services (BDS), potential partners for coaching and mentoring, and others needs of businesswomen.
- Linking One-Stop (OSS) and childcare/daycare needs of businesswomen in the catchment area, support infrastructure consultants in the design and activities for services.
- Review and provide input into the SoW for the Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) program, which includes the following training topics: Financial Literacy, Financial Management of the Enterprise, Digital Literacy, and Digital Financial Literacy
- Other tasks as requested

Qualifications:

- Strong experience with MSME sector in Indonesia (financial management, registration and licensing, tax issues, childcare, etc.)
- Knowledge of gender and social inclusion issues
- Ability to conduct on-the-ground research
- Experience working with MCC, USAID, or other international donors
- Based in Indonesia
