WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Technical Developer II to join our Converse Office to drives our footwear Engineering process from development to production. Actively manages and engineers the footwear technician while working with Converse teams and Factory Manufacturing partners for uppers and tooling. Ability on transition the commercialization process and ensure that products meet or exceed our quality standards for manufacturing.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Manages the product creation process from initial concept through to Ready to Commercialization and handover to production for assigned models to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals.
- Collaborates with Converse Development, Design and CTS Manufacturing team to effectively execute on product development goals and deliverables.
- Know how to access and navigate Converse systems to ensure all appropriate product documentation is maintained
- Tracks and facilitates sampling products under Product Engineering check points and addresses key issues and challenges in construction and manufacturing to ensure product risk assessment is made to calibrate risk level.
- Manage Product Excellence expectations to follow what can be realistically produced by the production line.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to champion complex projects both cross functionally and vertically within the organization.
- Agility to adapt and be flexible with changes to meet product delivery strategy and coordinate with functional teams to complete goals on time.

WHOM YOU WILL WORK WITH

This position is assigned to work with Converse HQ teams, CTS teammates in Asia, and Factory counterparts from receipt of the new model Tech Pack to Commercialization. Together with Costing, Material, and Manufacturing team, facilitate and integrate new ideas/ Costing re-engineering practices to improve product efficiencies and productivities. Clear, appropriate, timely communications, E2E project lead, and problem-solving competencies under teamwork mindset.

WHAT YOU BRING

Preferred Qualifications
- College degree in related technical/engineering field. Additional experience is required in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 5 years combined footwear manufacturing and technical capacity experience.
- Able to communicate well both in written and spoken English.

Technical Skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of lasts, footwear pattern, tooling, basic chemical engineering, and various footwear construction processes.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of footwear manufacturing machinery and processes.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, sketches, and digital files in 2D/3D.
