Our client, an enchanting luxury boutique hotel, is looking for a Chief Engineer to join their team.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A professional engineering license or relevant certification is an advantage.
- Proven track record in a senior engineering leadership role, ideally within the hospitality, restaurant, or similar industries.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance practices, energy-efficient technologies, and health and safety regulations.
- Strong ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills to resolve technical and operational challenges efficiently.
- Capable of managing multiple engineering projects, maintenance schedules, and budgets concurrently.
- Commitment to maintaining safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Passion for integrating sustainable and energy-saving technologies into operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide strategic leadership to the Engineering department, setting goals and objectives in alignment with the overall business strategy.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement engineering strategies that enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee the maintenance of all equipment, machinery, and facilities across the venue.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols, conducting regular inspections and audits.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and conduct training sessions to enhance safety awareness.
- Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
- Conduct energy audits to identify areas for improvement and implement energy-efficient technologies.
- Monitor energy consumption patterns and recommend strategies for optimisation.
- Implement measures to enhance work productivity within the Engineering department.
- Streamline processes and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times.
- Lead and oversee capital projects related to facility upgrades, renovations, or expansions.
- Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring successful project execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing Engineering team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Facilitate ongoing training programs to keep the team abreast of industry best practices.
- Develop and manage the Engineering department budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report on budget performance.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements and quality standards.
- Source and onboard new suppliers as needed, promoting cost-effectiveness.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the Engineering department.
- Analyse performance metrics and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration to drive excellence.
