BI engineer will collaborate very closely with, Analytic Engineer and PM Team Acquire and collect reporting requirement from PM Team and/or clients and breaking it down as data requirement and acquisition strategy with Analytics Engineer Product Develop and deliver reports and dashboard as product solution for PM Team and/or clients

Day to day responsibilities of a BI Engineer will include:
Perform requirement elicitation on presented business questions and requirements. Help business users to to identify data requirements and solution.

Perform exploratory data analysis and data mining of the various data sources (internal or external) to gain insights and discovering data points.

Develop model design from existing data lake and deliver necessary model and exploration that is ready to be presented for end-users.

Maintain and update dashboards as needed, including adding and updating metrics, visualisation improvements, and making changes to the dashboard design.

Collaborate with Product to develop a range of Business Intelligence product portfolio.

Other Requirements

Strong analytical skills in data and process to identify improvements and opportunities. Ability to perform a root-cause analysis and translate structured thinking to processes.

Resourceful in working with knowledge online. Able to do an effective google keyword searches and go in-depth in official documentations.

Able to work in a cross-functional teams in a fast-pace working environment. Set ambitious goals, but be flexible for changes.

Strong project management and organizational skill. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey messages for different stakeholders effectively.

Familiarity with UML diagrams. Habit to document and prevents knowledge silo.

Ability to communicate timeline and expectations for different stakeholders. Ability to push back on proposed deadlines and give recommendations on feasible timeline.

Good presentation skill. Ability to create a stunning data visualization and story telling. Break down insights into a set of action item recommendations for the business. ‍

Minimum Qualifications: Skill expectations

Technical Requirements

Ability to use use scripting language to perform ranges of data processing such as analysis, cleansing, reshaping, and exploratory.

Advance proficiency in using SQL for query and data manipulation.

Understanding in using basic git flow and branching strategy.

Experience in dashboard development and data modelling in various BI Tools.

Experience in Looker and LookML is a plus.

Experience in development and data modeling using dbt is a plus.
