Underwriting Technician

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- Under the guidance from Head of Underwriter, deliver work output to meet the set Auto business goals and objectives
- Review, analyze, and underwrite new and renewal business within underwriting authority and guidelines
- Makes independent sales calls to market and cross-market products.
- Prepare underwriting referral proposals, negotiate, and liaise with regional team for approval
- Communicate, negotiate, and liaise with business partners and clients to maintain the renewal accounts and develop new business opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong personal and professional relationships with business partners and clients
- Develop new product distribution strategies and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Complete administrative duty requirements as needed as it relates to local and regional report
- Adherence with all underwriting guidelines and bulletins
- Keep abreast of market changes and trends in relation to strategic direction for new business or new product development

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum 3 years underwriting experience with exposure to Auto Insurance highly regarded
- Graduate degree or equivalent
- Technical understanding of the respective product line and ability to recognize market opportunities
- Analytical skills and proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- IT skills capable of working off a variety of technology platforms including underwriting platforms and rating tools
- Results oriented and highly accountable.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient knowledge of department procedures and insurance terminology.
- Being proactive, have willingness to learn new things
- Demonstrates self-diligence, ability to organize and patience in dealing with rigorous administration processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment making quick decisions while adhering to sound underwriting discipline.

**Salary**: From Rp7,000,000 per month

**Experience**:

- underwriting: 2 years (required)
- General Insurance: 1 year (preferred)
