This role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of a property’s infrastructure and systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal guest experiences. **Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Maintenance & Operations**:

- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and fire safety equipment.
- Manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment longevity and minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff to ensure service standards are met.

**2. Team Management**:

- Recruit, train, and supervise engineering staff, including technicians and maintenance workers.
- Delegate tasks and ensure all maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and safely.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to maintain technical skills.

**3. Compliance & Safety**:

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national safety regulations and building codes.
- Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental standards within the property.
- Monitor fire safety systems, conduct regular inspections, and maintain emergency protocols.

**4. Budgeting & Resource Management**:

- Prepare and manage the engineering department's budget, including tracking expenses and controlling costs.
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and ensure cost-effective resource utilization.

**5. Energy Management**:

- Develop and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs.
- Monitor energy consumption and recommend sustainable practices to improve efficiency.

**6. Project Management**:

- Plan and oversee renovation and refurbishment projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
- Liaise with contractors and consultants for large-scale repairs or installations.
- Provide technical expertise during project planning and execution.

**7. Communication & Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., housekeeping, front office) to address operational challenges.
- Provide technical support during events or special functions within the property.
- Report regularly to the General Manager on maintenance progress, issues, and recommendations.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Degree or certification in engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in hotel or hospitality engineering operations.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental sustainability practices.
