Our finance professionals play an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. They deliver significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, funding and capital structure to honor our commitments to our stakeholders. They inform the decisions of AIG executives and comply with regulatory requirements, maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

Within the Finance team, the Treasury and Capital Markets group handles Treasury Department activities and funding the overall capital structure of AIG and investor relations. The Actuarial and Value Management team manages rating agency relations. The Finance Operations team handles controllership activities, including Security & Exchange Commission reporting and tax.

About the role

What you need to know:

- General Tax handling:

- General review of transactions per ledger for tax purposes
- Checking Profiles of Vendors, Brokers etc for correct tax set up
- Advising on invoices for tax treatment
- Reconciliation of Tax payment to ledger payables, identifying reconciling items including forex rate
- Providing support for Blackline
- Creating upload reports for WHT typically articles 23, 26, 4 & 2, but also some article 21 (individual tax) not covered by HR, with accurate tax codes applied
- Reporting of those WHT amounts
- Corporate Income Tax installment update quarterly, based on quarterly regulatory P&L reports and submission to tax office
- Annual Corporate Tax submission support
- Annual Transfer Pricing documentation support
- Requesting and checking double tax treaty documentation as needed
- Contacting Tax office account representative when needed
- Reviewing tax updates received
- Delivering documents to tax office when needed
- Reports as needed for region
- Tax audit support when needed
- UAT on tax changes or implications of system updates
- Accounting for tax liabilities and deferred tax
- Knowledge of Finance & Accounting activities:

- Accounting & Reporting
- Treasury operations across multiple currencies
- Bank account management
- Investment operations
- Cash Flow
- Intercompany and reconciling
- Accounts Payable and payment operations
- Expense allocations
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Expense reporting & analysis
- Accruals & Prepayments
- Capitalization & Amortization/Depreciation (incl. Fixed Assets)
- Other activities as needed for F&A or the Company

What we are looking for:

- Experience in Tax reporting and administration
- Good, strong financial accounting basics
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Organised and methodical approach to achieving goals and solving problems
- Good qualifications in Finance & Accounting, Tax or other appropriate similar areas
- About 3 years relevant experience
- Experience working with a multinational organisation is preferrable
- Experience working in diverse teams is preferrable, including leadership roles if any
- Ability to communicate well in English, both written and verbal
- Good Interpersonal skills and experience in building relationships across functions
- Effective at multi-tasking and time management
- Being proactive, willing the learn new skills
- Experience working with multiple complex financial systems and ledgers is preferrable
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access would be advantageous
- Experience in projects would be advantageous
