**Project Overview**:
The Government of North Macedonia is planning to award Bechtel, along with our joint venture partner, the construction of approximately 110km of dual carriageway motorway.

The project is of significant national importance and the Government of North Macedonia is entrusting the joint venture to fast track the development and construction of these strategic motorways which will form part of the Pan-European Corridors IIIV and Xd, which will enhance North Macedonia’s transport connections with neighbouring countries and support economic and social development.

These four new sections of motorway will continue Bechtel’s legacy in delivering successful motorways in the Balkan region. The North Macedonia motorway consists of two sections in the east heading south from the capital Skopje and running parallel to the Sharr mountains, one section passing through the UNESCO natural world heritage site around Lake Ohrid (one of Europe’s deepest and oldest lakes), with the fourth section in the South of the country close to the border with Greece which will enhance connectivity between the cities of Bitola and Prilep.

**Job Summary**:
The Quality Manager will maintain the Quality program for the North Macedonian project, together with oversight of the programs/plans for both the direct hire scope and the subcontracted scope.

You will support quality activities associated with field engineering, field procurement, construction, testing and commissioning within the Project scope specifically regarding civil and geotechnical materials.

The Quality Manager will also maintain client liaison and communication for the Project’s quality activities, as directed by the Project Manager. You will review, audit and monitor Quality activities across the Project and advise and report to management on quality problems and progress on the project.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Maintains and coordinates the Quality program/plan within the Project.
- Provides functional direction for quality activities within the Project, communicating with engineering, procurement, construction, administration services, testing, commissioning and other project personnel to ensure quality goals and objectives are met.
- Monitors activities of direct hire construction activities and BBE subcontractors to ensure materials installation and construction comply with established acceptance criteria.
- Monitors the performance and overall progress of construction inspections to ensure adherence to established requirements for quality.
- Manages requirement for and directs preparation of technical and administrative documents and reports.
- Reviews and approves quality related procedures prepared by the Project to ensure compliance with the Project quality program/plan.
- Trains personnel assigned to the Project and subcontractors in matters related to the Quality program including development of quality related training programs.
- Supervises and participates in the project auditing and monitoring program to verify the effectiveness of the project quality program/plan.
- Recommends actions to personnel within the Project and Sub-Contractors to correct observed quality deficiencies.
- Maintains client liaison and communication for quality assurance related activities.
- Represent the Project during quality assurance audits conducted by the client, management or regulatory agencies.
- Developing/reviewing contract quality requirements, preparing inspection and test plans
- Reviewing subcontractor and supplier-submitted quality plans.
- Participating in meetings representing the quality function.
