**About the position**
- We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Petrophysicist to join our Far East Team based in Jakarta office. You must be Indonesian nationality.
- As a Senior Petrophysicist within GeoSoftware you are responsible for executing consulting projects, teaching advanced petrophysics and rock physics training to customers, providing technical leadership, expertise, and supervision to technical members.
- You are expected to be able to develop and implement best practice petrophysics and rock physics workflows to deliver advanced solutions with the highest quality for GeoSoftware services.
- You should be able to successfully leverage your expertise in Far East’s complex reservoirs to build, develop and manage strategies for creating new consulting services and software sales.
- You will work with a regional sales, marketing and technical members of the Far East Region located in Kuala Lumpur (regional headquarter), Perth, Jakarta and Dehradun.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Execute consulting projects, technical services and deliver training courses to the highest quality and exceed client’s expectations.
- Develop and implement best practice workflows to deliver advanced solutions for GeoSoftware services.
- Assist the sales team to develop and execute go-to-market strategies to increase consulting services and software sales.
- Deliberate with technical buyers the advanced technical concepts of the GeoSoftware products and integrated / cross-products workflows providing solutions to challenges throughout the life cycle of a reservoir/field.
- Ability to clearly communicate to commercial buyers the values from GeoSoftware cross-product workflows to solve key customers’ challenges.
- Provide leadership and direction for internal technical staff within the Far East Region.
- Guide and monitor the technical team to successfully execute software evaluation and consulting projects inside GeoSoftware office or customer’s site.
- Publish at least one (1) technical paper per year as the lead author in technical conferences or journals of repute.
- Prepare and deliver webinars on technical topics for both internal and external audiences.
**Skills and Competencies**
- An advanced understanding and knowledge of:
- Wireline and LWD logging tools principles and measurements.
- QC and processing workflows of wireline/LWD tools and measurements.
- Petrophysical principles, methods, and formation evaluation.
- Physical rock properties and rock physics principles.
- Advance Level in the following skills:
- Understanding and recognition of the causes for erroneous well log measurements.
- Well log data QC, splicing, editing, depth matching, normalization, etc.
- Synthetic curve generation for missing logs and correction for borehole effects.
- Rock typing and facies analysis.
- Identification of coal, carbonaceous, and heavy minerals.
- Deterministic petrophysical evaluation to evaluate petrophysical parameters such as volume of clay, porosity and saturation.
- Stochastic multi-mineral petrophysical interpretation.
- Integration and calibration of petrophysical interpretation with core data (RCA, SCAL) and fluid data (LFA, IFX, PVT).
- Pay summary analysis.
- Integrated and iterative well log conditioning, seismic petrophysics, rock physics diagnostics, rock physics modeling, forward modeling and seismic calibration/validation.
- Fluid substitution and scenario modeling.
- Skill and experience with the following are beneficial:
- Well logging operations and core sample analysis.
- Checkshots and VSP processing and interpretation.
- Borehole image processing and interpretation.
- Reservoir simulation and modeling techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team (strong teamwork, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential for successful collaboration).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data QC, analysis and interpretation.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
