**Position Title**: Chocolatier
**Location**: Bali, Indonesia
**Reports To**: Factory Manager / General Manager
**Role Overview**
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chocolatier to lead our newly established chocolate factory in Bali. This role requires creativity, technical expertise, and hands-on involvement in developing world-class chocolate products. The Chocolatier will be responsible for crafting recipes, overseeing production, maintaining quality standards, and driving innovation to create exceptional chocolate experiences.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Recipe Development and Innovation**:
- Develop and refine chocolate formulas, recipes, and product lines to meet market trends and customer preferences.
- Experiment with flavors, textures, and designs to create unique and innovative products.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align new product development with brand vision and market demand.
- **Production Oversight**:
- Lead the chocolate production process, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and adherence to timelines.
- Establish and monitor production standards, including ingredient sourcing, tempering, molding, enrobing, and packaging.
- Manage inventory of raw materials, ensuring optimal stock levels and reducing waste.
- **Quality Assurance**:
- Ensure all products meet the highest quality standards, including taste, texture, appearance, and shelf life.
- Develop and enforce hygiene and food safety protocols in compliance with local and international standards.
- Conduct regular quality control checks and address any issues promptly.
- **Team Leadership and Training**:
- Recruit, train, and mentor production staff to build a skilled and motivated team.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Provide ongoing training on chocolate-making techniques, machinery, and quality standards.
- **Operational Management**:
- Collaborate with the management team to plan production schedules and budgets.
- Monitor machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and scheduling maintenance when needed.
- Work with the procurement team to source high-quality ingredients sustainably and cost-effectively.
- **Market Research and Trend Analysis**:
- Stay updated on global chocolate trends, consumer preferences, and industry innovations.
- Incorporate insights into product development and production strategies.
- **Sustainability and Ethical Practices**:
- Promote sustainable practices in sourcing ingredients, production, and packaging.
- Support community engagement initiatives, including partnerships with local cacao farmers.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Proven experience as a Chocolatier, Pastry Chef, or in a similar role in the confectionery industry.
- Expertise in chocolate production processes, tempering, molding, and flavor development.
- Creative flair and ability to design visually appealing and innovative chocolate products.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP certification is a plus).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of sustainable and ethical practices in chocolate production is preferred.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Indonesian or French is a plus.
